And yes, you do need to cut back on carbs. The way to do that is by reducing your calorie intake by eating more fat and less carbs. Carbs are made of complex chains of sugar and glucose that you can’t digest unless they are broken down into simple sugars and then converted to fat. So you need to eat a lot of fat to make up for all the carbs you’re eating now.
