I’ll be the first to admit that I love jack in the box tacos. They are quick, easy to make, and packed with great flavor. Today I wanted to share a few tips to make them healthier.
Jack in the box tacos are made with a meaty filling. I like to make mine half-and-half, but a quarter-cup of refried beans makes them a bit more filling and a little healthier too.
Make sure when you use refried beans, you cook them in a separate pot. This way your meal will be a bit healthier but not so bland that you’ll get a nasty taste in your mouth.
The recipe at the end of this post is pretty simple. Instead of using a meaty filling, add half a quarter of a can of tomato or a half a can of tomato sauce to the tomato and tomato sauce.
So basically, the recipe is one of those ideas that really, really works. In fact, I’m thinking of making it a standard part of my meal rotation for the week I’m a jack in the box.
The recipe is pretty simple, but the idea of using canned ingredients and letting them sit for a bit before eating means that when you do eat your taco youll be more likely to enjoy it. The best part is that you can also add raw veggies to the taco if you like.
In a recent episode of the TV show, a jack in the box was caught eating a taco with a can of diced tomatoes and a can of taco sauce. In the end, he was fired for poor performance.
At least that’s what I thought. So I went and did my own science experiment.

The idea is to give people something to play with, and the taco thing is the vehicle. It’s really quite simple.
